Barmetrix uses both a different methodology and a unique set of tools to raise the bar when it comes to Hospitality Training. Firstly our program is just that – a series of training sessions rather than a one-off course. These sessions do not simply say ‘how to' but instead explain ‘why' and allows Staff and Management the opportunity to practice those skills for a set period of time. Staff can put a year long development plan into place for themselves and then action it along the way. |
Secondly, our training does not bombard attendees with a whole slew of information but instead asks them to understand how certain key factors and principles can make a big difference to profit, job satisfaction and guest experience. We focus normally on just 5 changes or improvements to understanding or procedure each period until they become habit.
Thirdly, our Bar Simulator Program allows us to measure and demonstrate the actual effect of those changes and principles to provide proof. Proof our ideas are valid, proof that even tiny differences in working practice make large differences and proof that staff are learning and applying that knowledge.

Fourthly, we are firm believers that any training should involve both staff who will apply it and managers who are responsible for managing those staff. The training sessions are designed to create a coaching relationship between management and their staff because over the next quarter it will be up to them to ensure that the staff practice these techniques unfailingly. |
Lastly, we combine educational and practical components into a high impact but seamless session. The staff are engaged and involved, and the key messages are embedded. We knew we had a winning formula when the most popular question at the end of the session from staff became, “When are you guys coming back next?!”
